What are the different ways to consume CBD?2021-12-03T08:41:14+00:00
The fastest way to get CBD into your bloodstream is to smoke it, or use a vape cartridge which vaporizes the CBD for inhalation.  CBD can be felt in your bloodstream as fast as 30 seconds, or up to 3 minutes!   Another way to consume is to put the CBD tincture under your tongue and let the oils absorb sublingually, this is not as quickly absorbed as smoking but it is much faster than waiting for the CBD to be metabolized if you choose to eat edibles such as gummies or brownies and other baked goods or foods.  Consuming edibles is another way to take CBD, but this will require a half hour to 45 minutes before you would feel the effects.  You can also apply it topically to specific areas for pain relief.  Within a few short minutes you will feel the CBD reducing the inflammation to provide pain relief.

How is Holistic Harvest CBD different from other CBD companies?2021-12-03T08:27:05+00:00

Holistic Harvest Farms CBD is derived from plants grown outdoors using our proprietary organic alpaca fertilizer, combined with the regenerative soils that allow for optimal plant growth and CBD development.  Our farm sits in a perfect location, in a valley, with a microclimate that allows hemp to be protected from high winds and great drainage of storm waters.   The soils are porous, yet fertile, and the water table is just high enough that no irrigation is necessary.  Our field is fertilized by the herd of alpacas that graze this farm on a year-round basis.  It is their contribution of “alpaca beans” known widely for their benefits to growing magnificent gardens, that keep the plants thriving in an organic way with no added commercial chemicals or fertilizers.  We depend on the nitrogen the alpacas leave behind naturally and the manure (known as peat moss on steroids) to feed the appetite of the hemp plant and bring it to its fullest potential.  And WOW, we have witnessed the magic that happens with those beans!  Other companies may use commercial fertilizers and added commercial nutrients prior to and during the growing phases… we use nothing.  Other companies may have water that is high in unhealthy chemicals and micro nutrients, we use water from the Great Lakes as Cleveland is known for their pure and refreshing water of limitless supply.  The alpacas are an integral part of this sustainable farming method, and one compliments the other as the alpacas can and do eat the hemp plants adding fiber to their fiber rich diets to produce healthy wool.

What are cannabinoids? What is the Endocannabinoid system?2021-12-03T08:25:32+00:00

Cannabinoids are compounds found in cannabis.  There are at least 113 different cannabinoids found in the cannabis plant.  CBD is just one of those cannabinoids.  According to wikipedia: The endocannabinoid system (ECS) is a biological system composed of endocannabinoids, which are endogenous lipid-based retrograde neurotransmitters that bind to cannabinoid receptors (CBRs), and cannabinoid receptor proteins that are expressed throughout the vertebrate central nervous system (including the brain) and peripheral nervous system. The endocannabinoid system remains under preliminary research, but may be involved in regulating physiological and cognitive processes, including fertility, pregnancy, pre- and postnatal development, various activity of immune system, appetite, pain-sensation, mood, and memory, and in mediating the pharmacological effects of cannabis. The ECS plays an important role in multiple aspects of neural functions, including the control of movement and motor coordination, learning and memory, emotion and motivation, addictive-like behavior and pain modulation, among others.

What is the difference between CBD Hemp and CBD Cannabis?2021-12-03T06:48:45+00:00

Both hemp and marijuana belong to the same species, Cannabis sativa, and the two plants look somewhat similar. However, substantial variation can exist within a species. After all, great Danes and chihuahuas are both dogs, but they have obvious differences. The defining difference between hemp and marijuana is their psychoactive component: tetrahydrocannabinol, or THC. Hemp has 0.3% or less THC, meaning hemp-derived products don’t contain enough THC to create the “high” traditionally associated with marijuana.

How does CBD compare to THC? Will this or any of your products get me high?2021-12-03T06:45:12+00:00
Will it get me high? How does it compare to THC? Cannabidiol is Not Psychoactive One of the most crucially important qualities of CBD is its lack of psycho-activity. In layperson’s terms, this means that cannabidiol won’t get you high. Unlike THC, the cannabinoid with the legendary power of producing euphoric sensations, Cannabidiol is inert. So when taken on its own, users experience none of the sensations of being stoned. And this is the single most important property of the cannabinoid from the medical—and legal—perspective. so NO, it won’t get you high.
